Yayoi Kusama is best known for her infinity dots motif, which light our eyes on fire with it’s pulsating, kaleidoscopic colours and hallucinatory effects. She was once told by a psychiatric doctor that her obsession with painting was the cause of her mental illnesses. Despite such a diagnosis, she persisted in her role as a “crazy” artist to become the matriarch of contemporary art that we know today.
